If I could travel through time, but only in one direction, I would have a great deal of difficulty choosing whether to go forward or backward. Forward: what might change? Might life be better on planet
Earth? Might there be amazing elements of culture, technology, and civilization to explore? But I would also fear going forward in time to find a world devastated by climate change, war, disease, poverty. So in the end I would choose to go back in time, to see and experience past eras. I would want to see what life was like for Native American peoples 10 000 years ago, how their societies were structured; I would want to see famous inventors inventing things in China, in Italy, in Scotland, in America; I would want to meet the artists I love best, have a drink with them and talk with them; I would want to meet great queer folks of the past and have great conversations. Mostly, I would want to see people, and talk to people, who I can't talk to right now.
